Are you a technically minded commercial professional with a passion for solving complex formulation challenges?
We’re seeking a motivated Technical Sales Engineer to grow and support our coatings additives business across the Midwest. In this role, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills to drive value for customers in architectural, industrial, automotive, and specialty coatings markets.
What You’ll Do- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow additive sales within the North‑Eastern USA territories and surrounding regions
- Provide technical support to customers—including labs, formulators, and manufacturing teams—guiding them on additives selection, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and on‑site trials
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with distributors, key accounts, and OEMs
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and unmet technical needs
- Collaborate closely with R&D and Marketing to translate customer requirements into product recommendations and innovation projects
- Maintain accurate forecasts, project updates, and CRM documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in coatings, additives, resins, pigments, or specialty chemicals
- Strong understanding of coatings formulations and performance requirements (e.g., rheology, dispersion, surface modification, durability, film formation)
- Ideally located in OH, or near
- Proven track record in technical sales or application engineering
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and travel throughout the region (30‑50%)
