Job Title:
Lead Mechanical VAVE Engineer
Location: Greater Logansport, IN (Relocation assistance provided)
Salary: $120/k to $140/K per year plus Bonus and additional Benefits For Example:

The Lead Mechanical VAVE Engineer drives Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives across vehicle platforms. This role focuses on cost optimization, design innovation, and delivering high-quality, manufacturable engineering solutions aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end VA/VE initiatives from concept to production
- Design and develop vehicle conversions using CAD tools (Inventor)
- Engineer and integrate vehicle systems (structures, suspensions, mechanisms, closures)
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while improving performance and quality
- Build and manage a pipeline of design optimization ideas
- Align design, procurement, and validation with APQP/stage-gate processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.)
- Drive standardization, common design strategies, and low-cost alternatives
- Support prototype development and validation activities
- Lead design reviews and ensure targets for cost, quality, and timing are met
- Continuously improve engineering processes and product designs
- Strong experience in vehicle system design and integration
- Expertise in structural design, sheet metal, welding, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of automotive systems (fuel, braking, cooling, exhaust)
- Proficiency in FEA, DFMEA/PFMEA, DFM/DFA, GD&T, DOE, and tolerance stack-up
- Solid material selection and cost optimization skills
- Experience with CAD tools (Inventor, AutoCAD) and ERP systems
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- 4+ years of automotive mechanical design experience
- Experience with vehicle launch or assembly environment (preferred)
- Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional management
- Experience with steel and aluminum component design
