Position: Electronics Production Technician (NASA LTVS Award Contingent)
Axiom Space is collaborating with Astrolab, Inc. to develop a Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) for future Artemis missions, combining Axiom’s advanced AxEMU spacesuit with Astrolab’s FLEX rover to enable groundbreaking scientific exploration on the Moon’s surface. Employment in this role is contingent on Astrolab/Axiom being selected as a winner of NASA’s LTVS contract.

POSITION SUMMARYWe are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Electrical Technician who will primarily be responsible for the assembly and test of electrical hardware form the developmental stages through flight for the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Program. This position interfaces with employees and government agencies. This position reports to the AxEVA Production Lead. This role is onsite and will be based at our Gemini facility located in Webster, TX.KEY

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assemble, test, and integrate prototype, qualification, and space-rated avionics hardware.

Fabricate avionics wire harnesses, terminations, connectors, pin and socket assemblies, harness shields, ground terminations, and related components per drawings.

Communicate project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.

Implement and maintain agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

Perform additional job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education & Experience Associate degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; commercial or military aircraft experience strongly preferred.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician.

Proven background in board-level, system-level, and spacecraft-level electronics hardware.

Demonstrated expertise in fabricating, assembling, and testing avionics and electrical assemblies.

Must hold one or more of the following certifications:

IPC/WHMA-A-620:
Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies with Space and Military Applications (Electronic Hardware Addendum)
IPC J-STD-001:
Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies with Space and Military Applications

NASA-STD-8739.1:
Workmanship Standard for Polymeric Application on Electronic Assemblies Strong track record of delivering results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and the ability to address complex challenges effectively.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality results.

Skills The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and diagrams of avionics systems, assemblies, and wiring layouts

Familiarity with standard lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition boxes, etc.).Must be able to interact with all engineering disciplines and technical management in a professional team-oriented environment

Executes priorities with precision and pace

High EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally

Tech-savvy in using systems and tools to move faster and smarter

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
