Shop Engineer - Turbo machinery
Ebara Elliott Energy is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Shop Engineer - Turbo machinery to provide critical technical and quality assurance leadership for our repair operations. This role is essential for ensuring the successful completion of complex component repairs, including reverse engineering non-Elliott products, while maintaining rigorous quality standards, process documentation, and shop efficiency.
Responsibilities- Execute reverse engineering assignments and provide technical support for component repairs, rerates, and rework.
- Develop quality plans, manage the tool calibration system, and lead process audits.
- Issue drafting requests, review detailed drawings, and generate accurate customer inspection reports.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Quality Action Requests (QARs); identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity gains.
- Act as the primary link between the shop, suppliers, and engineering to resolve technical roadblocks.
- Support the Repair Shop Manager with man-hour estimates, training programs, and subordinate career development.
- B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 2+ years in shop engineering (machining, fabrication, and industrial drawing creation).
- Proficiency in CAD, FEA, and Microsoft Office Suite; strong knowledge of drawing symbols and mechanical systems.
- Understanding of refinery/chemical plant operations and how design impacts manufacturing.
- Exceptional communication, time management, and the ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving teams.
- Minimal travel; able to travel 15-20% as needed.
Salary: $105k - $150k per year base. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, sick leave, and more.
