Manufacturing Engineer
What You’ll Do
- Commission and startup automotive paint booths, curing ovens, and related paint shop equipment.
- Perform booth balancing, oven balancing, airflow checks, temperature testing, and system validation.
- Use field measurement tools including manometers, anemometers, temperature probes, and other calibrated instruments.
- Verify equipment performance and make adjustments to meet design specifications.
- Troubleshoot airflow, mechanical, thermal, and process-related issues during startup.
- Partner with controls engineers, project teams, installation crews, and customers during launch activities.
- Perform equipment testing, document results, and provide commissioning reports.
- Support customer sites during launch, production ramp-up, and optimization activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- A road warrior who enjoys extensive travel (approximately 75%), customer sites, and hands‑on technical work.
- Experience with one or more of the following: automotive paint booths/paint shops, industrial ovens/curing ovens, air handling systems/industrial ventilation, thermal processing equipment, large industrial equipment startup or field service.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Experience with airflow, temperature, combustion, or process equipment preferred.
- Comfortable working independently in customer environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t want to sit behind a desk. You’ll travel to major automotive manufacturing facilities, work with advanced paint shop technology, and be part of the team responsible for bringing large‑scale systems online.

Additional Requirements- Pass a pre‑employment drug test and be able to pass a drug test at any time during employment.

While performing duties of the job, the incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and use hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
