Station Engineer – Engineering Technologist Associate, Transmission System Operations Engineering

• Support compliance with applicable NERC and industry standards for transmission-grid configuration changes

• Provide engineering support to Transmission Field Services during final commissioning and verification of planned and unplanned transmission-grid work

• Review upcoming system outages for applicable configuration changes

• Review engineering drawings and project information to align systems of record with as-built conditions

• Perform root cause analysis of system-of-record discrepancies

• Identify process-improvement opportunities and ensure accurate facility ratings

• Provide guidance and direction to other engineers

• Lead, facilitate, and coordinate engineering work activities

• Develop plans, measurable goals, objectives, and requirements

• Coordinate project cost inputs and budget-planning activities

• Identify and initiate corrective action when objectives are not met

• Prepare and review technical reports for management, professional societies, and regulatory bodies

• Lead and facilitate meetings and training sessions

• Analyze options and risks and make decisions affecting department operations and projects

• Manage project budgets and assess impacts on expenses and revenues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a non-ABET program plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET-accredited Bachelor's program
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology plus a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Confirmation that a PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred
• Entry-level position for new graduates
• Knowledge of NERC and industry standards
• Ability to interpret codes and regulations and develop relevant standards
• Ability to analyze systems and component equipment interrelationships
• Ability to perform root cause analysis
• Ability to use scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts
• Ability to manage project budgets using cost management techniques
• Ability to prepare and present complex technical reports
• Ability to work safely and comply with company and external-agency regulations
