- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with financial analysis
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and reporting skills
- Experience working with foundation, research or higher education funds
- Experience developing financial dashboards or data reporting tools
- Experience with process improvements or systems implementation
This position provides comprehensive financial oversight and reconciliation for UGARF funding and other Office of Research financial activities. It monitors and analyzes all UGARF funding, performs high‑level reconciliations, maintains financial reporting tools and dashboards, and drives process improvements to enhance financial workflows while ensuring compliance with university policies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures in the recording, classifying, and examination of fiscal transactions
- Ability to analyze financial data, recognize errors, and implement corrections
- Financial Oversight and Reconciliation:
Monitor and analyze UGARF funding, assist with startup commitment tracking, perform periodic account reconciliations, oversee reconciliation processes for UGARF‑related accounts, identify discrepancies and coordinate with staff for resolution, and monitor other Office of Research financial initiatives. - Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI), provide financial analysis and reporting to support leadership planning, and prepare summary reporting related to UGARF budgets and research support activities. - Process Improvement and Systems Support:
Identify and implement process improvements for financial monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting workflows, promote consistency and standardization across UGARF and Research Support financial practices. - Operational Support:
Acquire expertise in UGA financial management systems, independently process financial transactions including purchases, payroll distributions, journal entries, and payment requests in accordance with university policies.
