Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Controller will manage and direct daily accounting and finance activities; ensuring that proper accounting and recording of company transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner; and producing financial and other key reports for management. The Controller will also provide management and leadership to assigned team members under their supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Models and supports Dant Clayton's values, beliefs, and company vison.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting and finance team.
• Monitor the general ledger entries with reconciliations and analysis.
• Produce financial reports including the P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and department statements with analysis.
• Prepare the monthly results package. Present at the monthly Combo meetings.
• Maintain accurate WIP schedules and continue to build actionable information.
• Partner with the PM’s to continually update CTC reports for accuracy with monthly reviews.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external resources to refine and develop the companies ERP system (CSI), ensuring data accuracy.
• Complete the Sales Commission Statements and entry.
• Execute wire transfers, review and sign checks.
• Monitor billing and cash collections / cashflow.
• Manage the month end and year end year closing process, hitting defined due dates.
• Manage the annual external audit process and annual physical inventory process.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years progressive and proven experience in the role of Controller or Accounting Manager.
• BS degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Advanced degree highly preferred, but not required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, but not required.
  
  Construction or manufacturing industry knowledge preferred.
• Must have proven experience leading and managing a team of direct reports.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a challenging environment to meet deadlines.
• Must have the ability to work and thrive in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
