Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

Job Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will be working in the healthcare industry, overseeing the general accounting function, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role involves significant interaction with other departments, assisting in problem resolution, and process improvements not directly related to accounting.

• Manage the general accounting function, including inter-company accounting, cash management and reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contractual allowances for medical claims and account for balance sheet reserve and income statement reporting.
• Oversee the monthly review of contractual and bad debt allowance for all healthcare services.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of physician practices and manage accounting for all provider expenses including provider compensation.
• Prepare various financial statements of the organization in accordance with organizational rules and regulations.
• Ensure that policies and procedures are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
• Act as a strategic partner with other departments within the organization to assist in problem resolution and process improvements not directly related to accounting.
• Oversee the budgeting process relating to assigned business operations.
• Regularly review the financial data of the organization and ensure that the activities are proceeding as per regulations.
• Ensure that the financial activities of the organization take place as per schedule.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reports as needed.
• Develop management reports to monitor healthcare receivables by discipline and trending of activity.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal control procedures.
• Foster a collaborative teamwork environment and positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with company, federal, and state guidelines at all times.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all information and abide by HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
• Utilize skills such as 'Month End Close', 'Financial Reporting', 'Health Care Revenue Cycle', 'MS Dynamics AX' in performing tasks.

• Position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting field.
• Candidate must possess expertise in Month End Close operations.
• Proficiency in Financial Reporting is essential.
• Knowledge and experience in Health Care Revenue Cycle management is a plus.
• Proficiency in using MS Dynamics AX for accounting and financial tasks is necessary.
• The role demands exceptional leadership skills to manage and guide the accounting team effectively.
• Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail are crucial for this role.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for effective team coordination and reporting.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion is essential.
• The role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent decision-making skills.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or additional certifications such as CPA or CMA would be advantageous.
• The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, are necessary for this role.
