Overview
Remote Financial Planner role supporting the Kentucky government/public sector plan participants. Some travel within Kentucky may be required. Living within the territory or in a border city is strongly preferred. Role requires Series 6, 63, and 65 (or 7/66), resident life insurance license, and CFP designation. This is a G2 band position.
Job Description SummaryThe Financial Planner supports Registered Representatives and Investment Advisor Representatives by using approved software to produce needs assessments and written financial plans, to drive a consistent sales process and client experience, and to identify cross-sell opportunities. The team values plan knowledge, multi-tasking ability, and a collaborative, client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Advise customers and internal/external sales representatives on retirement income plan development, including explanation of product features and administrative procedures for owned products and appropriate new recommendations.
- Prepare comprehensive financial plans and needs-based assessments using approved planning software; develop alternatives and recommendations for client presentation/delivery.
- Collaborate with Sales to monitor open proposals and support achievement of outcomes.
- Develop and conduct producer training in the corporate office and in the field.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and regulations; adhere to firm policies (including AML/OFAC and privacy).
- Gather and analyze marketing intelligence (sales activity, production, FAQs, objections) to inform planning and client interactions.
- Research complex technical questions related to products, planning issues, tax considerations, Social Security, and retirement concerns for the sales force.
- Conduct retirement planning seminars for customers and producers (virtual and in-person as requested).
- Support in entity-level presentations where retiree services information is required.
- Maintain awareness of changing legal environments impacting investments, retirement plans, and insurance products.
- Coordinate with compliance, communications, advice, systems, sales, and administration to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Serve as a technical resource for retiree marketing efforts and maintain detailed records of client interactions and recommendations in compliance with regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
- FINRA Series 6 license and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required; associates must obtain required federal/state licenses/registrations within the designated time period.
- Two years of experience in the financial services industry with specialization in financial planning.
- Knowledge of financial planning software (e.g., Profiles, Money Guide Pro) or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of investments, product knowledge, and client service strategies; familiarity with property and casualty distribution is a plus.
- Analytical, organized, research-focused, and able to multi-task; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Other criteria, leadership skills, and related experiences may take precedence as determined by leadership and HR.
- Overtime eligibility:
Exempt; typical office environment with occasional travel as needed. - Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record in line with Nationwide standards.
