Position: Auditor I

Auditor I – State Auditor & Inspector (Agency 300, LGSSD – Ada District Office)

Employment Type: Full time, Regular

Location: Ada District Office, Southeast District

Compensation: Annual salary range $48,000 - $52,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize accounting and auditing skills to perform financial, operational, and federal compliance audits for county governments and other political entities.
  • Audit county courthouses, including Pittsburg, Latimer, Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Pontotoc, and McCurtain.
  • Travel to audit sites and arrange overnight stays as required.
  • Ensure audits are conducted independently and objectively, providing reliable results to promote government efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field, or minimum two years of accounting/audit experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel and stay overnight.
  • Strong critical thinking, time‑management, and teamwork abilities.
  • Interest in continued professional development.
Salary & Benefits
