What We Need
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Administrator 1 (
Historical & Cultural Programs Administrator) within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered in Greene County at Great Council State Park. The address is 1587 US-68, Xenia, Ohio 45385. What You Will Do…
- Administers, coordinates, & oversees all historical & cultural program functions for Great Council State Park
- Responsible for the development, implementation, & evaluation of interpretive displays, educational programming, cultural resource initiatives, volunteer engagement, & public outreach
- Manages partnerships, coordinates group involvement, and develops curriculum aligned with educational standards
- Explores & cultivates public/private &/or public/not-for-profit partnerships to enhance program activities and ensures all interpretive efforts align with ODNR policies, procedures, & strategic objectives
- Works collaboratively with the Park Manager on facility maintenance & development related to interpretive & cultural resource use
- Oversees naturalist staff and tour guides
- Starting hourly pay $33.32/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $47.47/hr.
- There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the E1 Exempt pay range schedule & longevity rates Exempt Employees E1 | Department of Administrative Services.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires travel.
48 mos. trg. or 48 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (i.e., History, Cultural Resource Mgmt., or Interpretive Program Coordination) indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.
- Or undergraduate major core program & 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (i.e., History, Cultural Resource Mgmt., or Interpretive Program Coordination) indicated under job duties within approved position; valid driver’s license.
- Or completion of graduate major core program & 12 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty (i.e., History, Cultural Resource Mgmt., or Interpretive Program Coordination) indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.
- Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
