To provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to residents upon physician referral and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and facility standards.
Qualifications- Must be a graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy.
- Must be currently registered/licensed in the state of KY. Must maintain active license in good standing throughout employment.
- 1 year experience in post-acute care or LTC setting preferred.
- CPR certification preferred or required upon hire. CPR certification must remain current throughout employment.
- Act as a liaison with residents, families, support departments, insurance companies, etc., to adequately plan for resident needs.
- Demonstrate proper body mechanics at all times.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Be knowledgeable of occupational therapy practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing occupational therapy functions in the post-acute facility.
- Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the occupational therapy department.
- Perform proficiently in all applicable competency areas.
- Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Display integrity and professionalism.
- Follow occupational treatment plans for residents.
- Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals.
- Oversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students.
- Chart appropriately and timely.
- Utilize software appropriately and accurately.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward residents, families, colleagues.
- Assist in the evacuation of residents.
- Concentrate, use reasoning skills, and exercise good judgment.
- Communicate and function productively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
- Practice good personal hygiene.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 35 lbs.
