Pay: $18/hr
LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a healthcare organization in Norwood seeking a Medical Customer Service Representative to join their team, based in Norwood, OH. This position plays a crucial role in accurately and promptly answering incoming phone calls regarding inquiries - patient billing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding billing questions
- Accurately record payment information for each collected payment as needed.
- Review patient charts for referral authorizations and document findings.
- Educate patients and practice staff on insurance requirements and benefits.
- Provide patients with procedural preparation information.
- Enter charges accurately for all performed services.
- Assist in managing outgoing calls received via fax or physician offices.
- Triage incoming calls and direct them appropriately using strong customer service skills.
- Utilize phone system features (call forward, call transfer, voicemail) proficiently.
- Collect necessary personal information for identifying new and existing patients, ensuring correct demographic and preliminary financial data for new patient medical records and pre-processing of required authorizations/certifications before scheduled visits.
- Identify patients accurately using appropriate search methods (DOB, SSN, etc.).
- Verify and update patient information according to company standards when changes occur in insurance, address, or other details.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a health-related setting preferred.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology and terminology associated with the specialty business is preferred.
