A long term care facility is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead our resident engagement and recreational programming department at a respected skilled nursing and long-term care community.

Activity Director ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents in a skilled nursing facility and long-term care setting.
Create engaging recreational, therapeutic, educational, social, cultural, and community-based activities.
Promote resident participation, independence, dignity, and emotional well-being.
Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, entertainment, and volunteer programs.
Complete activity assessments and develop individualized activity plans based on resident interests and needs.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding resident activities.
Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, social services, dietary, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident quality of life.
Supervise activity staff and volunteers while providing leadership and mentorship.
Maintain accurate documentation and activity records.
Develop innovative programming that encourages socialization, engagement, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity.
Previous experience as an Activity Director
, Activities Coordinator
, Recreation Director
, Life Enrichment Director
, or similar role in a skilled nursing facility (SNF),
rehabilitation center
, long-term care facility
, or assisted living community preferred.Experience managing activity programming for geriatric and rehabilitation populations.
Strong organizational, communication, event planning, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to resident activities.
MEPAP certification, Activity Director certification, or other recognized credentials are preferred but not required. Qualified candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
