As an Insulin-Trained Medication Aide (MA), you'll play an important role in providing safe, compassionate care while helping residents maintain their highest quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
- Administer medications within the Ohio Medication Aide scope of practice
- Administer insulin using pen devices after successful completion of required training and certification
- Monitor residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Document medications, treatments, observations, and resident concerns accurately
- Perform approved treatments, vital signs, blood glucose testing, and other delegated tasks
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including feeding and personal care as needed
- Stock medication carts and maintain medication supplies
- Follow infection control, safety, and resident rights standards
- Work closely with nurses and caregivers to provide exceptional resident-centered care
- Successful completion (or willingness to complete) Greencroft's Insulin Training Program
- Long-term care or senior living experience preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassion for older adults and a commitment to providing outstanding care
