How You Make a Difference

The Certified Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of a registered nurse, and ensuring compliance with medication protocols. The technician documents medication administration and patient observations accurately while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality. They assist in training new staff, attend team meetings, and support overall clinical operations. Additional duties include equipment handling, supply management, and floating to various patient care areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision
  • Monitor and document patient vitals, symptoms, and behavior; report abnormalities
  • Participate in audits, training sessions, and staff onboarding processes
  • Maintain medication supplies, medical equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Float between units, assist team members, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: High School graduate or equivalent

Experience: 1-year related experience in a medical environment preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must be certified as a Medication Technician in the state where services are provided
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Must maintain SRNA certification
