Physical RequirementsThis position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures.
ShiftDay shift, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. with some on-call and holiday requirements. Hours and days of the week are subject to change based on needs and growth of department. Holiday is not currently a requirement, but always subject to change. Also requires some on-call.
This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services aimed at improving the care for patients enrolled within the UK Specialty Pharmacy service. This position will provide oversight of a variety of areas, including appropriateness of prescription processing, workflow improvement, mail order support, patient counseling, and coordination of prescription with clinic-based and call-center based specialty pharmacists. This position will provide a high patient-touch service while obtaining affordable access to these medications, both cornerstones of a high functioning Specialty Pharmacy.
Establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients.
Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a “team” mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/ExperiencePharmD and completion of an ASHP
-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred.
