Associate HR Business Partner (Bilingual)

Position Summary

This role supports daily HR functions—including hiring, recruitment, onboarding, benefit administration, compliance, data analytics, training, and associate relations—within the Human Resources Department. The position balances administrative support with strategic HR partnerships in the area or business segment it serves.

Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Hiring:
    Post jobs, screen candidates, conduct interviews, extend offers, and manage onboarding.
  • Benefits and Compliance:
    Support enrollment in benefit programs, respond to coverage questions, process changes, and provide knowledge of compliance topics.
  • OFCCP Program Administration:
    Administer OFCCP programs, goals, and training.
  • FMLA, Leave, and ADA Support:
    Apply knowledge of FMLA, leave, and ADA programs.
  • FLSA Compliance:
    Administer and monitor FLSA compliance standards.
  • Unemployment and Claims:
    Investigate and recommend actions on unemployment, workers’ compensation, and EEO claims.
  • Performance Management:
    Support talent cycle activities—goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching leaders.
  • Associate Relations:
    Investigate concerns, mediate disputes, address complaints, and maintain positive relations.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
    Partner with HR management and HR Business Partners to advise on associate relations, company policies, promotions, transfers, benefits, leave of absences, return‑to‑work programs, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Project Management:
    Apply project management experience or certification to support HR initiatives.
  • Additional Tasks:
    Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred); combination of education and experience accepted.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred; PHR/SHRM certification also a plus.
  • 1–3 years of human resources experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and English) with native speaker level in both oral and written communication.
  • Experience in distribution, production, or manufacturing environments a plus.
  • Familiarity with union work environments a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, practices, and federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Ability to lead proactively, partner with facility management, and respond urgently to HR needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for all organizational levels.
  • Self‑directed, organized, and capable of multi‑tasking project work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Travel flexibility ranging from 10% to 25% of the time for company locations; weekly travel to Bellefontaine, OH.
Physical Requirements

May require lifting or moving up to 20 pounds and sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods. The role is primarily office‑based with occasional exposure to indoor temperature variations and low to moderate noise levels. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
