Northeast Ohio | Full-Time | Competitive Salary Based on Experience

A well-established service organization in Northeast Ohio is seeking an organized, dependable Human Resources Compliance & Recruiting Coordinator to support the company's human resources, compliance, recruiting, and safety initiatives.

This position is responsible for coordinating recruiting efforts, maintaining employee records, supporting benefits administration, ensuring compliance with HR and safety requirements, and assisting with workers' compensation and regulatory documentation. The ideal candidate has approximately 2–3 years of human resources and recruiting experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment where organization, attention to detail, and confidentiality are essential.

A significant portion of this role focuses on recruiting and hiring for both field and administrative positions while ensuring all employment documentation remains accurate and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for field and administrative positions
  • Post job openings and manage applicant activity through recruiting platforms
  • Review resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Coordinate background checks, drug screens, physicals, respirator fit testing, and other pre-employment requirements
  • Prepare onboarding documentation and ensure all required employment paperwork is completed
  • Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting documentation

Human Resources Administration

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files
  • Process new hires, employee status changes, and termination documentation
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation
  • Track employee certifications, licenses, training requirements, and renewal deadlines
  • Assist with employee handbook updates and policy administration
  • Respond to routine HR questions and direct more complex issues to management
  • Maintain HR records in compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations

Compliance, Safety & Workers' Compensation

  • Assist with Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) administration
  • Coordinate injury reporting, claim documentation, and communication with third-party administrators
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and safety meeting records
  • Track required safety training and compliance certifications
  • Assist in maintaining organized, audit-ready HR and safety files
  • Support administration of MCO, EAP, HRA, benefits, and other compliance-related programs

Benefits Administration

  • Assist with employee benefit enrollments and qualifying life event changes
  • Coordinate benefit information with payroll administrator and benefit providers
  • Support annual open enrollment and benefit communications

Qualifications

Required

  • Approximately 2–3 years of Human Resources, Recruiting, Compliance, or related administrative experience
  • Recruiting or talent acquisition experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/recruiting software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • General understanding of employment practices and HR compliance

Preferred

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC)
  • OSHA compliance or workplace safety programs
  • Employee benefits administration
  • HRIS or applicant tracking systems (ATS)

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
