IT Support, Data Engineer
Manage a team that maintains cloud infrastructure for global data center operations. The successful candidate will have experience creating and devising strategies, mentoring people at all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. This role involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and participation in an on‑call rotation.
Key Job Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
- Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across different locations.
- Develop and update career paths for employees in internal tools.
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Ensure effective day‑to‑day operations, including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangement, and hardware logistics.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert across all aspects of data center operations and fast‑learn new domains.
- Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are measured and met.
- Inspire and guide improvement in team processes, technology innovation, and automation.
- Manage large‑scale events (outages) and act as the call leader.
- Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations.
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
- Maintain the on‑call schedule and coordinate absences and vacations.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality and quantity of services provided and enhance customer experience.
- Support data centers in various operational stages, including facilities under development that require travel for training.
- Ability to travel or commute between data center locations as required (over 50 miles or less).
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational.
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent field.
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- 2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission‑critical plants, or production facilities.
- 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
- Certifications in areas such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS, or other applicable credentials.
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments.
The base salary range for this position is $78,400.00–$ USD annually. The compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
