Obrela is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the delivery and maintenance of advanced network security solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in networking and firewalling, with the ability to design, deploy, and maintain perimeter and internal security controls in complex enterprise environments.
Core Responsibilities & Experience- Deploy, configure, and maintain next-generation firewalls across on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain the full firewall configuration lifecycle, including policies, VPNs, security features, migrations, upgrades, policy reviews, and troubleshooting issues in customer environments.
- Collaborate with network, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to integrate security controls into production environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and integration guides.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers on network security best practices and platform usage.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering role focused on firewalls.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing and switching, NAT, VLANs, DNS, IPsec/SSL VPN, reverse proxies, load balancers).
- Strong firewalling fundamentals, including policy design and enforcement, traffic inspection, and operation of NGFW security features.
- Core cybersecurity knowledge: security principles, threats, and best practices.
- Experience working with or supporting external customers.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network and security issues.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (both English and Greek).
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW (PAN-OS, Panorama) is considered a strong plus.
- Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PA NGFW Engineer) or equivalent networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
- Experience with other firewall vendors (Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco).
- Familiarity with cloud environments and hybrid security architectures, including virtual and cloud-delivered firewalls.
- Exposure to SASE/ZTNA concepts and remote-access technologies.
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms such as Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Crowd Strike, or Microsoft Defender, is considered a plus.
