This position will be assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit and will work cases assigned to them by the Chief Investigator.

  • locating, interviewing, and collecting statements from victims, witnesses and suspects
  • Collecting evidence at crime scenes
  • completing applications for search warrants
  • performing interrogations as well as assembling charge packets
  • CLEET full-time certified
  • minimum of five years’ full-time law enforcement experience
  • preference given to those with investigative experience
  • must reside within the geographical boundaries of District 22 or be able to relocate within a reasonable amount of time
  • position will rotate as an on-call investigator and is subject to call-out 24/7
  • must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Have a high school diploma or GED, a bachelor’s degree or higher education preferred
  • Veteran’s Preference
  • No felony convictions or major misdemeanors
  • No domestic violence convictions
  • Must be computer proficient
