Maintenance Technician

Hotel Covington and Salyers Group is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team to service our multi-property hotel, event center, and commercial real estate buildings.

Principal responsibility is to handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness of all properties and grounds. Primarily first shift.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Painting
• Basic Plumbing
• Minor Electrical
• Drywall
• Wood working
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

Standards:

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures and standards
• Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
• Due to the cyclical nature of the business, may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs
• Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation
• Attend all required meetings
• Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures

Physical Demand:

• Continuous standing, bending, kneeling for entire shift
• Ability to climb and work from ladders
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying required of up to 100lbs
• Subject to loud noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions and oils

Qualifications:

• Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members while fostering a harmonious work environment
• Must be able to work unsupervised and able to follow directions
• Must be able to work weekends and on-call shifts
• Ability to work is a fast-paced environment
• Energetic and motivated personality
• Excellent oral communication and listening skills
• Be willing to work until the job is complete and perform other duties assigned
• Possess a valid drivers license
