About the Role:
Uniti's Manager of Local Operations manages vital team members who represent our leading telecommunications brand that connects homeowners, small business, enterprise, and carrier partners across the United States. The Manager of Local Operations and the team care about technology and connecting customers to products they value, creating meaningful connections that result in long-term relationships.
What You'll Do:- Manage technicians in residential and business installation and repair, central office/network, cable; review job quality on a quarterly basis, enforce correct procedures, initiate disciplinary actions as necessary, and maintain personnel records for annual appraisals.
- Conduct installation, repair, and central office maintenance functions.
- Analyze trouble patterns and monitor central office routines to reduce repeat issues.
- Monitor progress of CO and Outside Plant jobs, inspect upon completion, handle after‑hours problems, and cover other supervisory areas as needed.
- Utilize ETA to monitor tasks, adjust schedules with planners, prepare monthly work schedules, and track employee status and performance reports.
- Provide safety training and maintain OSHA records; investigate and complete accident reports.
- Maintain files and documentation for DOT drivers, including monthly summaries and daily inspections.
- Control inventory levels and monitor controllable expenses, both in the office and on technician vehicles.
- Inspect and maintain building, grounds, and vehicles.
- Prepare budget inputs for tools and test sets and identify equipment needing replacement or relief.
- Work with city and county officials and local customers to maintain a positive company image.
- Ability to motivate employees in sales, revenue, and productivity.
- Employee management skills, including HR knowledge.
- Customer service mindset.
- Knowledge of telephone operations.
- Candid, vocal, and honest communication skills.
- Adaptability to rapid change and evolving technology.
- Relationship‑building mentality.
- College degree with 5‑7 years professional experience, 2‑3 years supervisory experience, 9 years related technical or telephone experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
