The Tuscarawas County Public Library System – with its Main Library, four branches, and Mobile Services division – provides vital services to the communities in Tuscarawas County. If you enjoy small towns and big stories, you are sure to enjoy Tuscarawas County, which boasts scenic rolling hills; a regional campus of Kent State University; a vital and expanding arts community that includes a Performing Arts Center, an outdoor theatre, and a Philharmonic Orchestra;
fifteen museums, including two National Historic Landmarks; and a growing trail and park system for hiking, biking, boating, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
Status: Full Time Salary 40 hours per week; some evenings and weekends required
Salary: Starting range of $58,000 to $68,000 per year; pay rate commensurate with skills and prior experience
Benefits: 13 paid holidays, paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System retirement plan, $15,000 life insurance policy, health insurance (85/15 premium share); may elect to take vision insurance, dental insurance, supplemental life insurance at employee's expense, as well as an option to participate in tax deferred payroll deductions for flexible spending account and/or Ohio's deferred compensation; paid Ohio Library Council and Northeast Ohio Regional Library System memberships.
Qualifications: MLS (Master of Library Science) or MLIS (Master of Library Information Science) from an American Library Association accredited library school; three to five years of library management experience required; experience in an Assistant Director or similar senior management role preferred; may be required to load, unload, lift, shelve, transfer and/or transport materials up to 50 lbs including cargo and book drop;
provide own transportation in fulfillment of job duties; be available evenings and some Saturdays.
