Position: Logistics Supervisor (Midwest Region)

Job Type: Full Time

Location Type: Onsite - 3865 Produce Rd, Suites 208-209, Louisville, KY 40218

Travel Requirements: Event travel and attendance at staff meetings & trainings is required. Event travel will include overnight stays for events. As part of the event operations team during the event season which runs from October thru April this role is expected to be available to work 2-3 weekends per month.

How You Will Make An Impact

The Logistics Supervisor is an important member of our Varsity All Star Regional Leadership and Operations team, ultimately responsible for ensuring that event production goals are met. This person should be detailed, analytical, organized.

What You Will Do Essential Job Functions
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Logistics and Warehouse team that drives operational excellence to achieve division objectives.
  • Oversee the coordination with trucking and shipping partners for all event and office related shipping of trailers and LTL shipments.
  • Oversee the management of event inventory and equipment to ensure it is maintained, organized and in working order.
  • Oversee the management of office supplies and equipment.
  • Manage, motivate and retain Logistics and Warehouse team.
  • Lead Hiring and Onboarding of Logistics and Warehouse team in accordance with required compliance.
  • Evaluate and conduct annual performance evaluations of team members.
  • Collaborate with the regional operations team to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Operate within budgetary limits and success metrics established.
  • Manage the logistics team’s performance to consistently encourage retention, growth and productivity.
  • Perform any duties of a Logistics Coordinator as needed.
  • Assist in the planning, logistics, delivery and unloading of mats for Varsity summer camp programs.
Additional Job Functions
  • Assist in the management of all assets such as buildings, equipment, insurance, etc.
  • Serves in a mid-level management and/or support role at events.
  • Participate on various committees and/or boards essential to our business both indirectly and directly.
Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead individuals.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong operational knowledge with respect and understanding of customer focused approach.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervise regional Logistics and Warehouse team.

Education/

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other college degree.
  • Experience of at least 5 years in events.
  • Operational, Warehouse, Logistics or comparable experience of 3+ years.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and event environment. Role will require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
  • During events the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
