PMO Director; Interim; Hybrid

FIDES is seeking an experienced
PMO Director (Interim)to provide strategic and hands‑on leadership within a healthcare organization. This individual will lead the PMO team, partner closely with executive and senior leadership, and strengthen project and portfolio management practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading PMO functions in a hospital or healthcare environment, developing teams, and improving governance, visibility, and project delivery.

This is a4–6 month contract engagement
requiring
three days onsite per week in Ohio
.

• Lead and mentor the PMO team, providing clear direction, coaching, and support.
• Partner with executive and senior leadership to establish priorities and align the project portfolio with organizational goals.
• Assess existing PMO governance, methodologies, tools, reporting, and processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Establish practical and scalable PMO processes that improve project visibility, accountability, and delivery.
• Oversee the project and program portfolio, including prioritization, resource planning, risks, issues, dependencies, and overall performance.
• Provide executive reporting and insights on portfolio health, project progress, risks, and decisions requiring leadership attention.
• Build strong partnerships across clinical, operational, IT, finance, and other business functions.
• Coach project and program leaders to promote consistent project management practices and successful outcomes.
• Identify and remove delivery roadblocks while escalating critical risks and decisions appropriately.
• Develop recommendations, documentation, and transition plans to support continuity following the interim engagement.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–10 years of PMO leadership experience
  , including experience as a PMO Manager, PMO Director, or comparable leadership role.
• Hospital or healthcare industry experience required.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing PMO teams.
• Strong background in project, program, and portfolio management.
• Experience working directly with executive and senior‑level stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of PMO governance, portfolio prioritization, resource planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Ability to quickly assess complex organizations, establish priorities, and drive practical improvements.
• Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.

• This is a4–6 month contract opportunity
  with potential for extension based on organizational needs.
• Hybrid position requiring

  .
• The role will have significant visibility across executive, clinical, operational, and technology leadership.
• The successful candidate will be expected to make an immediate impact while establishing sustainable PMO practices and supporting an effective transition at the conclusion of the engagement.
