We are seeking experienced Automation Engineers to support newly commissioned pharmaceutical packaging lines within a high-volume manufacturing environment. These engineers will serve as Automation System Owners, providing hands‑on troubleshooting and technical support for complex automation, controls, and vision system issues during live manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R controls platforms and possess the ability to work directly on the production floor alongside maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on automation and controls support across multiple packaging lines during commercial manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex PLC, controls, and vision system issues directly at the equipment level
- Serve as the lead automation resource for escalated technical issues during shift operations
- Support fault diagnosis, PLC program review, parameter modifications, and system recovery activities
- Work closely with maintenance teams to support high‑level automation troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Support integration, troubleshooting, and optimization of vision inspection and serialization systems
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to investigate deviations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on line reliability, efficiency, and operational performance
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and site quality standards
- 8+ years of hands‑on automation and controls engineering experience within manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R automation platforms
- Experience supporting industrial automation and packaging equipment in live production settings
- Proven troubleshooting capabilities with PLCs, automation systems, HMIs, and production equipment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and equipment support
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently during 2nd or 3rd shift operations
- Experience with in pharmaceutical, food & beverage, consumer goods, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with GMP manufacturing and FDA‑regulated operations
- Experience supporting vision inspection and serialization systems
- Strong root cause investigation and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance, operations, engineering, and quality teams in a fast‑paced production environment
