ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Assists manufacturing by providing support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Leads root cause investigations to determine the source of process variance. Develops and implements improvement plans to achieve business plan goals related to safety, quality, productivity and reduced operating costs.
- Ability to create processes for precision machined components.
- Lead or assist with quoting.
- Leads and is accountable for manufacturing aspects of new product development and introduction including transition from design to manufacturing through ramp up, product costing, supplier involvement on part design, scheduling prototype and pilot runs, and management of parts orders for new design.
- Works to improve the knowledge base of the company by maintaining a current and deep knowledge of manufacturing tools and methods. Supports the development and dissemination of lean manufacturing knowledge and techniques throughout the organization. Leads employee training and conducts Kaizen events at the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
- Prepares business cases for the purchase of new production equipment. Develops specifications and coordinates the bid process. Leads the installation, debugging, employee training and ramp up of new capital equipment.
- Ensure safety procedures, work instructions and other company policies reflect the changing needs of the business.
