General Job Description

The Stores Clerk is responsible for parts distribution, parts put away, cycle counting, housekeeping, and accepting deliveries after receiving hours. Accepting deliveries after receiving hours includes checking for quality and specifications, inspecting for damage, and unloading product which includes chemical/bulk tank deliveries.

Essential Job Functions
  • Issue spare parts for all plant and administrative personnel using the NAS eight digit coding system.
  • Assist in the delivery of parts when necessary.
  • Process part put away by placing all inbound stock and non-stock receipts that have been processed in their designated storage areas.
  • Count designated inventory on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of all storage areas, always keeping a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform random stock checks and notify the Turn Lead of impending stock outs on all items.
  • Complete out of stock forms for stock items requested with no available inventory to fulfill the request; submit the completed form to the Stores Coordinator.
  • Receive all trucks when the Receiving Department is not present, inspecting shipments for quality, damage, and specifications, placing material in designated storage area, and communicating delivery with receiving personnel. This includes chemical deliveries.
  • All Stores Clerks will be trained and/or certified on operating all the power industrial lift trucks and all other equipment used in the Central and LP Stores areas. Complete forklift checklist as defined in work instructions.
  • Supplemental Job Functions
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.
  • Report directly to and be accountable to the Stores Turns Leader. Receive work direction and instructions from the Stores Supervisor, Group Leader, and Turns Lead.
  • Service the needs of all NAS personnel, both plant and administration.
  • Report concerns with quality, damaged shipments, and/or incorrect deliveries to Turns Lead.
  • Minimum Education, Skills and Experience
    • Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED).
    Physical Abilities Required
    • Mobility in plant.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
    • The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Visual ability with or without correction.
    • Communication abilities.
    Health and Safety
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  • Follow company safety rules.
  • Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Use or wear required protective devices or clothing:
    • a. Safety shoes
    • b. Safety glasses
    • c. Hearing protection
    • d. Hard Hat
    • e. Respirators (note: you must be clean shaven to comply with company policies and OSHA regulations).
    • f. Fire Retardant clothing
    • g. Acid PPE
  • Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead, or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or company policy.
  • Follow all lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
  • Follow all environmental policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
