Production Manager, Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Factory Supervisor will be responsible for providing dedicated frontline leadership to hourly associates and contract workers, supporting production operations within a customer manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of labor services by maintaining consistent floor presence, coaching employees, and proactively addressing operational issues. This position is not dedicated to a production line and is focused on leadership, coordination, and performance oversight to ensure operational stability and customer satisfaction.
The Supervisor is responsible for setting priorities and allocating resources needed to complete all tasks to ensure projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and plans.
- Operational Leadership:
Provides real-time oversight of production floor activities across multiple lines;
Coordinates staffing assignments to ensure proper coverage and line balance;
Monitors workflow and escalates issues impacting production, efficiency, or staffing;
Partners with customer leadership to align on daily priorities and production needs. - Quality Assurance:
Reinforces adherence to standard work and operating procedures;
Performs routine quality checks and ensures containment of defects;
Identifies trends and collaborates on corrective actions to improve consistency. - Safety and Compliance:
Promotes and enforces a strong safety culture;
Conducts regular safety observations and address at-risk behaviors;
Ensures compliance with site safety policies and reporting requirements. - People Leadership and Development:
Onboards and trains new associates to ensure readiness and compliance;
Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management;
Monitors attendance, engagement, and employee performance;
Fosters a positive and accountable work environment. - Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:
Responds quickly to production disruptions or workforce challenges;
Identifies operational inefficiencies and recommends improvements;
Supports implementation of process enhancements and best practices.
- Education:
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience:
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational setting, strong communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to dynamic production needs. - Technical
Qualifications & Skills:
Requires experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CMMS. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety policies, procedure manuals, and maintenance specifications; write routine reports and correspondence; present information effectively in individual and small group situations.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentHigh and low bay lab environment inside P&G research and development center. Factory-like environment with power tools, forklifts, etc.
