The Job You Will PerformThe General Factory Helper reports to Plant Management and is responsible for the day‑to‑day safe operations throughout the plant. The helper assists across the facility, including feeding and stacking at various machine centers, hand labor tasks, and housekeeping duties. The helper must understand basic principles of corrugated, flutes, corrugation direction, and be able to identify various substrates. The helper assists operators in machine set‑up and production, ensuring quality of the finished product in accordance with company quality and production requirements.
Job Requirements- Follow all safety rules and procedures; maintain a safe environment for self and team members at all times.
- Apply lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTT) and MSK procedures consistently; always use required personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrate LOTT proficiency at all machine centers.
- Maintain housekeeping standards.
- Show teamwork, resolve issues professionally, and collaborate effectively.
- Operate machines at safe speeds and maintain top quality to meet customer needs.
- Detect, prevent, and resolve quality issues; involve management as necessary.
- Read and interpret standard tape measures, job specifications, and follow written and oral directions.
- Operate independently or under direction; be a self‑starter.
- Add and subtract units of measure and record figures accurately.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in English in written or oral form and resolve problems.
- Be able to stand, walk, reach at or below shoulder level, twist, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Willing to work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as business conditions require.
- Delegate tasks to crew members to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Counting and stacking finished product.
- Reading factory orders.
- Willingness to cross‑train and learn multiple machines.
