The Door Fabricator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ohio, United States. This role is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing various types of doors and related components according to specifications, drawings, and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting materials, operating hand and power tools, performing basic machining and drilling, and ensuring accurate assembly and alignment of door systems.
The Door Fabricator inspects completed products for quality, performs minor adjustments or repairs, and prepares items for shipment or installation. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures, and collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Experience with basic fabrication tasks, including measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling metal, wood, or composite materials.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and fastening equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, and work orders with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of shop safety practices and willingness to follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting fabrication or assembly issues.
- Ability to lift and move materials and products as required and stand for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented production environment.
- Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial door production is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in fabrication or manufacturing is a plus.
