Equipment Operator

Overview

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Washington Court House, OH, is looking for experienced Equipment Operators.

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in an industrial manufacturing facility.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto trucks.
• Perform operator maintenance on fork trucks.
• Read and interpret typed reports, schedules, and project numbers.
• Adjust hand wheels, depress pedals, and operate engines, throttles, and levers to control equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with other team members using hand or audio signals.
• Inspect equipment before use and check fuel supplies at sites.
• Follow safety regulations, take actions to avoid potential hazards, and monitor operations to maintain health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors.
• Execute tasks promptly to achieve results.
• Provide training to individuals in the Equipment Operator I position.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience as an Equipment Operator (I) or equivalent outside experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Combilift certification.
• Certification or prior experience using forklifts and other moving machinery.
• Working knowledge of material handling, banding, palletizing, and loading onto trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Advanced capabilities in operating various equipment.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to train other operators.
