PurposeResidential Assistants (RAs) provide direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. RAs actively engage with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. RAs play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social‑emotional wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities- Provide supervision, support, and behavior management as needed to youth
- Oversee the safety of residents and the facility
- Answer all hotline calls and provide crisis counseling as necessary
- Complete required shift documentation
- Prepare meals for youth
- Engage in programming with youth
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility
Collaborate with Treatment Team regarding youth progress toward goals - Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary
- Must be 21 years of age
- Two years’ experience working with at‑risk adolescents preferred
- Must have a High School diploma, some college preferred
- Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years
- Residential experience a plus

- Part‑time, 30-35 hours (1st shift):
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Full‑time, 40 hours (2nd shift):
Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., then Friday through Sunday from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
These are non‑exempt positions with an hourly wage range of $15 - $16.
