Position: Community For Judge Marilyn Zayas : Campaign Administrative and Outreach Coordinator

Campaign Administrative and Outreach Coordinator Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Campaign Staffer to support a Democratic candidate, Judge Marilyn Zayas, in a statewide Ohio Supreme Court judicial race in a Republican‑leaning state. The focus is on building voter connections through direct outreach, digital engagement, and targeted advertising, while also driving fundraising efforts to fuel the campaign. This is a paid, full‑time, temporary position requiring flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a passion for progressive judicial values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Candidate Assistance:
    Handle day‑to‑day administrative tasks for Judge Zayas, such as calendar management, travel arrangements, correspondence, preparation of materials for events and meetings and updating contact information of donors and other key contacts. Staff call time.
  • Outreach and Voter Engagement:
    Organize and manage meet‑and‑greets, table talks, and community events to introduce the candidate to voters across Ohio, emphasizing personal interactions to build grassroots support. Schedule in person and virtual meetings.
  • Social Media:
    Assist with as needed, in the execution of social media strategy to amplify the candidate's message, engage online audiences, and reach undecided voters who may not attend in‑person events.
Campaign Administration
  • Ensure campaign remains on task to meet goals and commitments.
  • Ensure follow‑through is completed on a timely basis, for example donor follow‑up emails are sent same day as donor contact.
  • Collaborate with Judge Zayas to execute overall campaign strategy maintaining impartiality and remaining politically neutral, including voter targeting, messaging, and outreach plans tailored to judicial election rules.
  • Collaborate with Judge Zayas to develop campaign timeline (tasks and key goals).
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operations, including scheduling events, debates, town halls, and community appearances for the candidate.
  • Coordinate town hall meetings and meet and greets, handling logistics such as venue selection, promotion, attendee coordination, moderation, and post‑event follow‑up to maximize voter interaction and feedback.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and delegation of tasks or collaborative efforts.
  • Develop, coordinate and schedule media interviews.
  • Respond to email inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Alternate campaign driver as needed.
General Duties
  • Collaborate with Judge Zayas on financial and strategic matters, providing regular updates and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including endorsers, community leaders, and legal professionals.
  • Handle crisis management and rapid response to any campaign challenges, such as opposition research or media scrutiny.
  • Ensure all activities uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, reflecting the judicial role's emphasis on justice and impartiality.
Required Skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure setting.
  • Proficiency in campaign management tools (e.g., Vote Builder, Act Blue), financial software (e.g., Excel/Google sheets), Canva or similar software, Mailchimp, Google shared drive, email, calendar and contacts.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, for donor outreach, media interactions, and team coordination.
  • Analytical mindset for data‑driven decision‑making, including voter analytics and budget modeling.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to ethical practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel throughout the state.
Qualifications
  • Ability and commitment to come on board strongly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, including evenings and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Ohio politics and judicial races is a plus.
  • Dedicated and active commitment to advancing Judge Zayas’s campaign.
  • Enthusiasm for overcoming challenges in a Republican‑dominated state.
Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. This is a 1099 position.
