Associate Director, Parent Giving Position Summary

This role, located in the Office of Parent Giving, leads major and leadership gift fundraising from parents nationwide. The Associate Director develops a portfolio of parent prospects, conducts targeted meetings, and collaborates with campus units to secure gifts supporting UGA’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of prospective parent donors to secure major ($50k+) and leadership annual gifts.
  • Conduct targeted meetings and stewardship visits—including travel within Georgia and surrounding states—to qualify, cultivate, and solicit donations.
  • Collaborate with academic units and development officers to partner on major gifts.
  • Prepare proposals and written reports in GAIL and document all donor interactions within a week of visits.
  • Support the Parent Giving team and lead the Parents Leadership Council as needed.
  • Manage day‑to‑day activities of the team, set performance goals, mentor staff, and conduct annual evaluations.
  • Assist with budgetary recommendations, fiscal oversight, and staff recruitment and development.
  • Attend strategy meetings, development staff meetings, and selected trainings.
  • Perform additional duties as required for special events, weekends, and evenings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent with at least 5 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, development, or related fields.
  • Experience with major gift fundraising in higher education ($25k and higher).
  • Strong relationship building and stewardship skills, with proven ability to influence and inspire donors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and donor database systems.
  • Self‑starter, team‑oriented, and able to lead an effective fundraising team.
