Friends of Sherrod Brown is hiring Coalitions Managers for the 2026 election cycle to support the campaign’s statewide political strategy. As members of the Political Department, Coalitions Managers will work under the direction of the Deputy Political Director (Coalitions) to implement constituency‑specific strategy and programming, build and maintain strong relationships with coalition leaders, and help translate campaign priorities into meaningful engagement.
Successful candidates will bring a strong understanding of an Ohio political landscape, demonstrated experience organizing events, and the ability to cultivate trusted relationships with Ohio’s coalition leaders, community stakeholders, and grassroots partners. The position requires discretion at all times and an understanding of the magnitude of handling confidential information. This position also requires an individual with a valid driver’s license and a comfort level driving in all parts of Ohio.

Responsibilities include:
- Execute coalition‑specific political programming in coordination with the Deputy Political Director, Political Director, and Campaign Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for several different constituency groups, partners, and coalition stakeholders, and aggressively track these contacts
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with community leaders, advocates, and coalition partners across issue areas or constituencies
- Support the development and execution of coalition‑based events, meetings, and engagement opportunities, as well as directing them to campaign resources and programming
- Track coalition engagement, commitments, and progress against department goals, as well as priority events for the candidate’s schedule and communicate priorities to department leads
- Prepare materials, briefings, and logistical support for coalition‑related engagements as needed
- Travel and staff coalition events and meetings as assigned
Qualified candidates will have:
- 1+ cycle of campaign experience
- A basic understanding of Ohio the political landscape and a willingness to learn about the dynamics of many different communities statewide
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders and principals
- Cultural competency in interacting with many different communities and regions of Ohio
- A strategic approach to solving complex political scenarios
- A willingness to engage all parts of the Democratic coalition in Ohio
- Strong attention to detail with ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- A commitment to a no‑drama attitude
