Russell Neighborhood VISTA Leader

The Russell Neighborhood Capacity Building Project is seeking to place one (1) Ameri Corps VISTA Leader who will provide support to a team of six (6) Ameri Corps VISTA Leaders. Volunteers must commit to a twelve (12) month assignment to strengthen the Russell and surrounding west Louisville neighborhoods by helping key anchor, community institutions to be more effective in addressing critical issues that inhibit the economic mobility of low‑income children and families.

The Ameri Corps VISTA Leader will support the success of the Russell Neighborhood Capacity Building Project by providing peer mentorship, coordinating training and professional development opportunities, and facilitating regular communication among Ameri Corps VISTA members. The Leader will help monitor progress toward project goals, encourage collaboration across all VISTA assignments, and assist with reporting and documentation efforts. Through leadership and peer support, the VISTA Leader will strengthen member effectiveness, improve coordination, and enhance the overall sustainability and impact of the project.

To be eligible for service as an Ameri Corps VISTA Leader you must have one of the following: at least one term of full‑time Ameri Corps service with VISTA (365 days), NCCC (1,700 hours), State and National (1,700 hours), or a full term with the Peace Corps.
