Job Overview
Primary City/State:
Casper, Wyoming.
Department:
Perianesthesia – Hospital (PACU).
Work Shift:
Night (Mon-Thu, 9:00pm – 7:30am). 4‑10hour shifts, 40hrs per week with a night‑shift differential of 15%.
- Pre‑op preparation: complete patient assessments, start IVs, ensure consents and paperwork are completed, administer pre‑op medications, assist with nerve blocks.
- Post‑anesthesia care: manage patients in phases1 and2 of recovery.
- Continuously assess patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and developmental needs; review history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results.
- Develop and update individualized care plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Delegate and supervise nursing and non‑nursing personnel; provide direct patient care; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate patient progress toward goals, adjust plans as needed, and document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the patient record.
- Participate in research activities and evidence‑based practice initiatives; contribute to unit or facility shared leadership.
- Mentor and precept colleagues; support education and orientation of staff.
- Engage with patients, families, and external stakeholders to support holistic care; provide spiritual support when appropriate.
- Current, active RN license in Wyoming (or eligible compact license).
BLS certification required. - At least one year of experience as an RN in an acute‑care setting, with experience in peri‑anesthesia or postoperative recovery preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and monitor patients safely during sleep periods.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Professional certifications such as ANA Critical Care, COT, or other relevant RN credentials.
- Continued education in peri‑anesthesia care.
