Program Overview

The Banner Health New Nurse Experience (NNE) is a full‑time Registered Nurse role for new graduates. It offers clinical mentorship, simulation training, competency assessments, and a flat‑rate shift differential.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data.
  • Formulate and revise patient‑specific plans of care, including discharge plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement plans of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; provide nursing supervision to licensed nurses and other personnel.
  • Evaluate patients’ and families’ responses to care and teaching; revise plans as needed to achieve measurable goals.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely and legible manner; record physician orders accurately.
  • Provide evidence‑based care and participate in research, shared leadership, education, and orientation activities; mentor staff when appropriate.
  • Contribute to patient outcomes through participation in quality improvement and professional organizations.
  • Supervise staff and workflow in some roles.
  • Engage with all levels of staff, patients, families, external contacts, and spiritual providers to support patient health.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim or compact).
    • BLS certification required.
    • Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired.
    • Maintain clinical performance competencies; annual validations.
    • Acute‑care experience: minimum one year in an acute‑care hospital within the past 12 months.
    • For travel or behavioral health roles, specific certificates (Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, Criminal History Affidavit) may be required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Professional certification.
    • Additional related education and/or experience.

    • Flat rate $1.50/hour weekend shift differential.
    • 15% night shift differential (when applicable).
