Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Public‑liability, quality‑focused role operating within a plasma collection center. Report directly to the Center Manager and assist the Center Physician with medical issues.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring medical or technical guidance.
- Support HepatitisB and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health or emergency evaluation.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and investigate community pandemic threats.
- Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and follow EHS guidance regarding incidents.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Operate under guidance from the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for operational and medical matters.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing education meeting state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successful completion of the FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (actual offer dependent on qualifications and experience)
