The Senior Project Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that product quality standards meet customer expectations from project initiation through production. This role collaborates cross-functionally with project managers, sales teams, customers, suppliers, and internal departments to establish, maintain, and improve quality standards. The position plays a critical role in driving quality assurance activities, managing customer expectations, resolving quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
KeyResponsibilitiesProject Quality Management
- Communicate with Project Managers, Sales, and customers to understand and align on quality standards and requirements
- Participate in new project kick-off meetings and provide professional quality-related recommendations
- Develop and prepare necessary quality documents based on customer requirements
- Establish Quality Standards (QS) and Test Plans for new products aligned with customer and company requirements
- Lead test plan review meetings with cross-functional teams (PM, Product Development, Sourcing, Laboratory, etc.)
- Guide laboratory teams in conducting product testing accurately
- Review test reports and submit validated results to customers
- Define quality standards for raw materials and finished goods
- Perform sample inspections and document quality issues for relevant departments
- Make decisions on non-conforming products during final inspections and failed tests
- Train QA/QC teams on project-specific quality standards
- Approve and sign off on reference samples and limit samples
- Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) reviews for raw materials and finished goods
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve complex quality issues
- Lead product-specific customer audits and ensure compliance
- Conduct pre-audits ahead of customer visits or formal audits
- Support suppliers in improving their quality management systems
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to address recurring quality issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing or project-based environments
- Experience in handling new product introduction (NPI) and project quality management
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO, QC tools, root cause analysis)
- Experience in test planning, inspection processes, and audit handling
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing experience
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority
- Experience working with suppliers and customer audits
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Proactive, results-driven, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
