This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours per week flexibly between 07:00 – 19:00.
As a Formulation Scientist you will work within the formulation group to support the client in both Manufacturing and R&D efforts by conducting formulation, pre‑formulation activities with analysis and characterization of the samples generated.
Job Responsibilities- Support the development of oral solid dosage forms by planning and executing small‑scale manufacturing and pre‑formulation activities, including equipment setup, clean downs, and high‑quality laboratory work across blending, compression, coating, encapsulation, and in‑use stability studies.
- Carry out product and material characterization activities such as particle size analysis, tablet performance testing, powder flow assessments, and evaluation of formulation attributes including rheology and polymer behavior.
- Interpret experimental data and translate findings into clear, scientifically robust documentation for laboratory reports, development protocols, technical summaries, and other project deliverables.
- Support the design, prototyping, scale‑up, and optimization of drug product formulations and associated manufacturing processes, and contribute technical insight to downstream activities such as control strategy development, technology transfer, and launch readiness.
- Take ownership of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring routine calibration, upkeep, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while maintaining full compliance with ALCOA principles through electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Research, consolidate, and evaluate information from internal reports, pharmacopeial references, scientific literature, and technical databases to inform formulation development, support gap analysis, and enhance scientific decision‑making across projects.
- Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline providing a strong theoretical foundation for laboratory work and development activities.
- Sound and practical understanding of Organic Chemistry with ability to apply core principles to pharmaceutical drug design, molecular evaluation, and experimental interpretation.
- Experience in Material Science with familiarity in analytical tools, characterization techniques, and their application within a multidisciplinary scientific environment.
- Experience with traditional and modern analytical techniques, hands‑on capability using equipment such as particle size analyzers, PXRD, DSC, and TGA, and strong knowledge of analytical methods, data‑handling tools, and scientific best practice.
