Post-Doctoral Associate – Brisbois
Position Summary:
A postdoctoral research position is open for candidates with a Ph.D. in biomaterials or a closely related field and a strong background in polymer chemistry, small molecule synthesis, biomaterials, controlled release, light/optics, 3D printing, materials characterization, biomedical engineering, and materials and analytical chemistry. The role involves fabricating and characterizing novel polymers and biomaterials, performing in vitro and in vivo analyses, proposal writing, data reporting, and mentoring graduate students.
This full‑time position is for one year with renewal contingent on performance and funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, optimize, and characterize hemocompatible and antimicrobial biomaterials (40% of time).
- Conduct in vitro characterization of biomaterials and polymers (30% of time).
- Prepare proposals, data reports, and grant applications (20% of time).
- Mentor and supervise graduate students (10% of time).
Ph.D. with experience in biomedical engineering, materials chemistry, polymer biomaterials, or a closely related field. Highly independent, self‑driven, excellent communication skills, and a strong publication record. Passion for translational research, confidence in learning new techniques, and ability to design projects independently. Team player with creativity, detail orientation, and goal orientation.
