Air Force Institute of Technology Internship
AFIT is offering research internships at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for qualified undergraduate students.
ResponsibilitiesAs an ORISE participant, you will join a community of scientists and researchers engaged in research activities in nuclear science, physics, engineering, and related fields. Under the guidance of a mentor, you will engage in: collection of experimental data, analysis of results, simulation of environments of interest, and other tasks as assigned.

Start DateExact start dates are determined at the time of selection and in coordination with the chosen candidate. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Appointment LengthResearch interns are typically appointed for a term of 10 weeks, with the possibility of renewal for additional periods.
Provisions- Stipend determined by AFIT, based on academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location

The Air Force Institute of Technology, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the Air Force’s graduate school of engineering and management and its institution for technical professional continuing education.
About ORISEORISE, administered by Oak Ridge Associated Universities through a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. Participants are affiliated with ORISE for the administration of the appointment but are not employees of ORISE, DoD, or any other agency.
QualificationsCandidate must have completed or be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The degree must have been received within five years of the appointment start date.
