Post-Doctoral Associate - Handa Position Summary
This postdoctoral research position is open for candidates with a Ph.D. in biomaterials or a closely related field, as well as a strong background and experience in the fields of polymer science, biomaterials, 3D printing, controlled release/delivery, microbiology, antimicrobial testing, hemocompatibility, tissue engineering, microfluidics, bioengineering, biochemistry, and chemistry. As a team member, the successful candidate will work on fast‑paced and interdisciplinary projects, including fabricating and characterizing novel polymers, therapeutic controlled release, and testing them using in vitro and in vivo models for conducting cell/molecular biology and biocompatibility tests.
The initial appointment is full‑time for one year, and the possibility of renewal is subject to satisfactory performance in year 1 and continued funding.
Duties and Responsibilities- Fabricate and optimize hemocompatible and antimicrobial biomaterials (40%)
- In vitro characterization of biomaterials and polymers (30%)
- Proposal writing and data reports (20%)
- Mentoring and supervising graduate students (10%)
- Ph.D. and experience in bioengineering, chemistry, biomaterials, polymers, or closely related fields.
- Enthusiastic and determined candidates who are highly self‑motivated, independent, creative, detail‑oriented, and goal‑oriented in their research.
- Passion for translational research, confidence in learning new techniques and designing projects independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and an outstanding publication record.
