Northern Bobwhite Field Technician
Research Technician position to assist with Northern Bobwhite trapping, radio‑telemetry monitoring, nest checking, data entry, equipment maintenance, and related fieldwork as part of experimental studies.
Responsibilities- Trapping quail (approx. 40% of time)
- Tracking quail via radio‑telemetry (approx. 40% of time)
- Data entry into databases and Microsoft Excel or ArcGIS (approx. 10% of time)
- Equipment maintenance (approx. 5% of time)
- Travel between sites (approx. 5% of time)
- Interest in game‑bird management and ecology
- Good driving record
- Understanding of consumptive wildlife management practices
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team player
- Experience pulling trailers (preferred)
- Experience operating UTVs (preferred)
- Previous gamebird work experience (preferred)
- Previous telemetry, field research, and computer experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with radio‑telemetry is desired
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, databases, and ArcGIS is desired
Lift up to 50 lbs. for brief periods and work in inclement weather. Driving required.
