Lead Scientist, Chemistry & Raw Materials

Location:

North Logan, Utah (on‑site). Reports to Chemistry and Raw Materials Team Leader, part of the Technology Operations and Innovation Division.

A Lead Scientist in the Chemistry and Raw Materials team will further the raw material characterization of materials used in cell culture media, providing technical support to Cytiva quality teams, MSAT, product engineering, R&D, sourcing, planning, and product management.

• Develop methods for and perform analytical testing on raw materials.
• Apply scientific understanding to plan and execute investigations of raw material questions or problems.
• Provide raw material technical support for other teams within Cytiva.
• Prepare and present both oral and written presentations for internal and external audiences.

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field; or MS with 2+ years of industry experience; or BS with 4+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with equipment such as HPLC, UHPLC, LC‑MS, ICP‑MS, QToF, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Preferred: experience analyzing large data sets using coding (Python, R, etc.) and bioinformatic tools.
• Preferred: experience using analytical instrument software (Empower, Mass hunter, etc.).
• Preferred: knowledge of good manufacturing processes.

Salary range: $85,000–$95,000. Eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
